Please click HERE for this weeks challenge.

Hi, everybody. I hope you're having a good Wednesday so far. It's time for our mid-week post and this week we have a competition for you. We're going to take you away from cards and ask you to alter a CD. You can have great fun with these. They make super wall hangings, toppers for boxes, card fronts...all sorts of things. You can do whatever you like so just get your inks and papers out and let yourself go wild.

Here are a couple of examples of what you can do with your CD. I did a vintage themed one and The Navy Wife did a wall hanging complete with a little bottle of fairy dust.

We have a super prize on offer too.
Debbie from CRAFTY PAD DESIGNS is offering her brand new set of fairy images and sentiments. We're having a little celebration for her opening her new website in conjunction with the competition, so please click on the link and go take a look. All her wonderful images are there and new ones are being added all the time.

JASMINES CARDS are offering a gorgeous Floral CD. Chock full of floral images to use in your paper crafting.

and LETRASET are giving a set of Promarkers.

The competition will run for 2 weeks alongside our normal Sunday challenges. So have fun and we can't wait to see what you all come up with.

It's nearly Mothers Day, so of course, our theme for this weeks challenge is just that.

But before we get on to the good stuff, I have some bad stuff to share. Our lovely Maxine and Barbara are both making their last appearance this week as DT members. They have been a great part of the team and will be sadly missed by us. Maxine particularly, as she's been with Debbie on this DT for about 2 years now. We wish you both loads of luck and happiness in whatever you decide to do. So, leave them some love everybody. Thanks Barbara and Maxine for all you've done.

Ok, on with the business at hand. Your entries last week, yet again, stunned us. Loads of them and all fabulous. But, you know that boring old rule ~ only one winner and this week that is #107 Craftdee Donna with this lovely cheerful card for her poorly mum.

Congratulations Donna. Please take your winners badge from the sidebar and click on Contact Us, email Debbie and she will sort your prize out for you.

We could easily have had a top 10 this week, but narrowed down to the top 3, these are the the lucky ones:
#144 Sheila for her beautiful card and all the gorgeous details on it.
#215 Nancy Brown for her fantastic stitching and lovely layout.
#224 Annika for her fabulous fox and stunning colour combo of blue and orange.
Congrats ladies, some beautiful creations there. Please take your top 3 badge from the sidebar.

So, the theme is Mothers Day and we want to see your cards for Mum.
Our fabulous sponsor this week is CRAFTY SENTIMENTS

and the prize for our winner is 3 digi images of your choice.

Here's what the design team did this week, all using the image 'A Gift for Mum' available from THE CRAFTY PAD DESIGNS.

Sentiment also available from The Crafty Pad Stamp Designs.

The challenge will close as always, next Saturday at 8.00pm GMT.

All the links for the Design Teams blogs are in the sidebar so please go and have a look and leave them some love. :o)

Email entries are welcome. Email using the Contact Button and they'll be popped into the post for you and please remember to turn off your word verification if you don't mind. It really does make like easier for us. Thanks.

We're looking forward to seeing how much you all love your mums and don't forget to come back mid week and see what we have for you next.

Hi everybody. I hope you're all having a good week so far. It's time for another midweek post and this week we have another tute for you. I'm going to show you how to make a super little mini pocket book from a single sheet of paper/cardstock.

To make this little book, you will need a single 12 x 12 sheet of paper or light cardstock. You can use plain and decorate as you choose, or, as I have done with my finished book, use a sheet of double sided cardstock. I used a Scor-Pal for my scoring, but you don't have to have one of these. The pockets in this book are large enough to hold ATC's or photo's of a similar size.

Step 1. Score your sheet at 6" then turn your card over and score at 2" from each edge. (2" and 10" if measuring from left).

Step 2. Turn your card a quarter turn and score at 3", 6" and 9" (again measuring from left).

Step 3. Now, put a strip of narrow DST (or glue) along the short edges of the four corner scored rectangles.

Step 4. Fold up along the original 2" and 10" scores and stick down.

Step 5. Now, you will make your ONLY cut. Cut from one end up the original 6" score to the top 3" score line.

Steps 6 & 7. Accordian fold each side as shown, and then, making sure the pockets are on the outside, fold over and glue the parts marked A1 and A2 together back to back.

Your book is nearly complete now, but you will see that the back (where I'm holding it) is open and floppy, so you need to bind it.

There are various ways to do this, but I've given you 3 examples.
First, you can use a stitch binding (google a bookbinding technique). Apologies for this awful pic, lol.

Secondly, you can use your Bind-it-All which works really well. A word of warning though. If you have the original blue machine, (I don't know about the pink one) the book is too thick to punch in one go. Do the centre folds first and then making sure you're punching in the same direction, do the outside folds. You also, cannot turn the back round as per the usual instructions so your wire ends will still be on the outside. Twist them to the back and it looks absolutely fine.

The third option, and my favourite, is to simply glue the open backs together so you have a solid little booklet with no openings at the back or the tops/bottoms of the pages. After I'd stuck my pages together I decorated the book with a few stamps, some understated embellies and glued a strip of ribbon right around the book for a fastening. I printed off 8 photographs of my granddaughter to go in the pockets and gave it to my daughter to carry in her handbag.

So there you are. I hope you like it. It's a lovely little book and has all sorts of uses. Try it yourself and experiment with different closures and bindings.

See you on Sunday for the next Crafty Pad challenge.

Well, it's Sunday again already. Where does time go?
Once again, you all excelled yourselves last week with some stunning projects. Our winner this week is #25 Linda Roberts with this lovely Mother's day card.

Congratulations Lynda. If you click on Contact Me at the top and email Debbie, she will sort your prize out for you. I hope you enjoy it and learn some great new stuff. She will need your email addy and full postal address so she can send your CD and please take your winners badge from the sidebar to display on your blog.

I can truthfully say that it's getting harder and harder to choose the top 3 each week, but the DT somehow always manage and this week, our top 3 are:
#18 Melissa for her absolutely stunning scrapbook page.
#61 Lori for her beautiful colours and fabulous colouring.
#100 Denimo for the cutest teddy I've ever seen and gorgeous colour scheme.
Congratulations ladies. Please take your Top 3 badge from the sidebar.

Right, on to this weeks challenge. This time round, we want you to use a Digi Image. Any image you like or even a sentiment, but digi it must be. Our sponsor this week is once again, the lovely JOANNA SHEEN

and the prize is a generous £10 voucher to spend in her online store. Joanna has so much to choose from and free postage too, which is always a bonus, lol.

The design team all used one of Debbie's new 'Through The Window' digi stamps, available from The Crafty Pad Stamp Designs HERE.
