Paper Piecing Tutorial

How to Paper Piece

Carefully choose an image, one that is not too intricate suits paper piecing. I have used Faith looks Sure for this tutorial. Decide which parts of the image you wish to paper piece and how many different papers you would like to use, I used two patterned papers and one handmade paper in this demonstration.

Stamp you image onto patterned paper of your choice.

Stamp the same image onto plain card.



Cut the patterned image out in sections as shown. Now cut the plain card image out as a whole image. The black has nothing to do with paper piecing it’s only to show the cut out image.



Colour any parts of your plain card image that you are not piecing.

Glue the paper pieces onto your plain card image.



Decorate as required if at all.
That is all there is to it but what a lovely effect!

Challenge 23..and some sad news....some good news and some more good news..:)

First of all let me just tell you the sad news......our very lovely Dawn has had to step down from the DT team - she has a lot on at present. So I would just like to take this opportunity to say a HUGE THANK YOU to Dawn for all the wonderful DT work she has created for The Crafty Pad and it was a great pleasure working with you. :) We are of course good friends and so we will stay in touch. :) :)

Now for the first part of the good news:-

Our newest member of the DT is the very lovely Maxine she shall be joining us from next week and then we can give her a lovely warm welcome to the Crafty Pad. ;)

Now for the second part of the good news:-

Pop back a bit later to see the previews of the new stamps being unveiled today. :)

A Race for Life Stamp..NOW AVAILABLE..:)

June Doing The Race for Life is NOW AVAILABLE. :)


I designed this stamp especially for the Race for Life charity run.

I have named her June because the some of the races for life is in June. :)

I shall be donating £1.00 for every stamp sold to the Cancer Research Charity.

She is quite a versatile stamp in that the Text is actually seperate to the image and so she can be used for Congrats, Good Luck, Well done etc. I have left the banner blank for you to use as you wish :)

June shall be available for pre-order from Monday 18th May - orders shall be dispatched on the 25th May. ;)

The price for the June stamp is £3.00

This June stamp is exempt for the sale prices.

This stamp is also exempt from the challenge prize.
