Tutorial for Altered Spoon..:)

Hope you enjoy this tutorial for altering a spoon.

You will need:-
A spoon (I have used an old dessert spoon)
Christmas Bauble and Text set stamp – from The Crafty Pad, HERE
Gold Pearlescent paper
Glitter Gold Embossing Powder
2 Snowflake Charms
2 Small Red Brads
1 Small Gold Brad
Length of Sheer Green Ribbon
Rich Red Embossing Powder
Clear Pigment inkpad
Glitter Gold Embroidery Thread
Silicone Glue
Heat Gun

1. Rub the Clear Pigment Ink pad over base of spoon – I removed a corner of my inkpad allowing me to wipe it over.

2. Sprinkle over the Glitter Gold Embossing powder – ensuring that both sides are covered, now heat with heat gun until all the embossing powder has melted. Hold the spoon for a few seconds until the spoon has cooled before setting down.
Now do the same with the handle of the spoon – hold again until it has cooled.

3. Stamp your Text stamp (from the Christmas Bauble and Text set) with clear pigment inkpad onto your gold pearlescent paper. Sprinkle the Rich Red Embossing powder over and remove any stray embossing powder from around the image. Heat gently until the embossing powder has melted.
Cut or punch out – I have used my circle punch.  Add your gold brad to centre of stamped image.

4. Using the gold embroidery thread wrap around the spoon handle as shown in photo and use a small amount of silicone to hold it in place. Cut another small length of the embroidery thread to use a loop to hang the spoon – apply a small amount of silicone glue to the back of the handle and add the thread. Allow glue to set before proceeding.

5. Apply silicone glue to the back of the stamped image and gently position on base of spoon – slightly lower than centre. Set the spoon to one side and allow to the silicone to set.

6. If your charms are silver – apply the pigment inkpad all over and dip charm into Glitter Gold embossing powder – heat and allow embossing powder to melt – hold for a few seconds to let it cool.

7. Place a red brad through the centre of the cooled charms and using a small amount of silicone apply to back of charm and adhere to spoon as shown in the photo.

8. Now tie two bows using the green sheer ribbon – adhere to spoon as shown – again with small amount of silicone glue.

9. Allow to dry.

Now you have a beautiful Christmas Decoration to give as a gift or keep yourself.

Hope you enjoy altering your spoon.
